The wildlife on an old Forest Service road #Video
Description
This past summer was the first time we had a camera on this old Forest Service road, and turns out it was a great place for a camera. We captured many observations of Vermilion River Pack wolves as well as many other critters, including almost all of the larger forest carnivores.
Also, this section of the old road was very close to a large beaver pond which is why we captured footage of swans, geese, ducks, and beavers…not the kind of animals that are typically just wandering down roads!
Notably, the wolf we captured most on this camera was the Vermilion River Pack’s breeding female. Early in the video you can see her distended nipples from nursing pups at that time.
We even got a rare shot of a young Vermilion River pup all by itself in early June. Usually we do not see pups wandering by themselves until early July or so!
