Ground-up restored by a former president of the Austin-Healey Club, this exceptional example spent most of its life in California. It's a certified Gold Concours Award winner with documentation from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust. Featuring the rare Tri-Carb engine, an award-winning restoration, and an impressive pedigree, we just acquired it from the John Cena car collection!

EXTERIOR: This restoration is at least 28 years old, and it has certainly stood the test of time! The body still looks fantastic. It's straight, clean, and free of rust or damage. The doors, hood, and trunk all fit nicely. Repainted in the stunning combination of Florida Green and Pacific Green, it's a unique and outstanding color combination that really sets this British sports car apart. The finish is smooth as glass with a beautiful shine. You may find a very minor imperfection here or there if you go looking, but overall it's impressive! The chrome and trim are shiny and straight, and the windshield is crystal clear. It includes the original detachable side windows, which are functional but have not been restored. New replacements are available for approximately $1,000. The black canvas convertible top looks to have been replaced recently. My favorite feature is the optional chrome wire wheels with knockoff spinners. They sparkle like new and are wrapped in radial tires for improved driving and handling.

INTERIOR: This is a 2+2, meaning it has seating for four passengers. The front bucket seats are upholstered in genuine leather, along with the center armrest cushion. The rear seats have been reupholstered to match. The door panels and storage pockets are also neatly upholstered. The beautiful beige upholstery is accented with green piping, giving it a very classy British sports car look. The dash area has been restored and features a nice set of factory gauges and knobs. The heater control panel looks to have been replaced, and there's a convenient storage tray underneath. One of my favorite features is the gorgeous polished wood-rim steering wheel with aluminum spokes, mounted on an optional telescopic steering column. It's also equipped with the optional heater and seat belts for both front and rear passengers.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood, it looks like everything was completely disassembled and properly restored. At the heart of it is the original #s-matching 2.9-liter inline six-cylinder engine producing 132 horsepower. What makes this one particularly special is the factory Tri-Carb setup featuring three SU carburetors. This rare arrangement was offered only from 1961 into 1962 before being discontinued. All the components appear clean, correct, and properly restored. Even the wiring harness looks to have been replaced with reproduction cloth wrapped wiring for an authentic factory appearance. Overall, the engine compartment is beautifully detailed and presents exceptionally well!

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's clean, complete, and properly detailed. The underside of the trunk lid is neatly painted and has a nice weatherstrip. Inside, it has the correct trunk liner and a fifth wire wheel for a spare. It even includes the lead hammer for removing the knockoff spinners. The 12-volt battery is conveniently mounted in the trunk and equipped with a master disconnect switch.

UNDERSIDE: It appears to have undergone a rotisserie restoration. Everything was removed from underneath the car, revealing completely solid, clean metal that was painted body color. The steering, suspension, and braking systems were all gone through at the time of restoration. It features front disc brakes, something Austin-Healey offered well before they became common on American cars. It has a beautiful polished stainless steel dual exhaust system that produces that unmistakable British sports car sound. Looking up at the motor, everything is clean and properly detailed. The 4-speed transmission was just rebuilt and features the highly desirable electric overdrive, making highway cruising much more enjoyable. The rear end has been restored and is equipped with 3.90 gears for some spirited driving.

Add in a frame-off restoration, and you've got one stunning Impala that delivers both show and go!

EXTERIOR: The vibrant Roman Red paint was applied with great attention to detail and polished to a slick, mirror like finish. Looking down the sides of this long, straight body, you'll appreciate the smooth contours and crisp lines. The bumpers have been rechromed, and the remaining brightwork has a beautiful, lustrous shine. The side glass was replaced with smoked glass, not simply tinted. It's also equipped with the desirable bowtie side mirrors. Up front, the grille is in excellent shape and proudly displays the classic Chevrolet crossed flags. Upgraded Holley RetroBright LED headlights, along with LED taillights and reverse lights, provide improved visibility for those late night cruises. The stance is absolutely perfect! It's sitting on a gorgeous set of 18-inch Jongbloed wheels wrapped in performance tires. The wheels were even removed so the backsides could be painted red, a nice looking detail.

INTERIOR: They restored it back to its original vintage charm inside. Down on the floor it has real nice fitting carpet along with some embroidered Impala mats. It feels like the seats have been recushioned and they are reupholstered in the houndstooth pattern along with matching reproduction door panels. The armrests, handles and window cranks have all been replaced. Overhead is a real nice white headliner, visors and LED interior lights. The dash is painted a smooth gloss black. It has a mini tach in the dash and a set of SunPro gauges down below along with the Holley Sniper fuel injection digital readout. It has the 1960 style steering wheel but it is made smaller to get in and out easier. There is a hidden Bluetooth stereo in the glove box, the previous owner claims $6,000 was spent on the sound system alone. In the trunk it has amps, sub woofer and speakers in the rear deck. Seat belts were added in the front, which were still optional in 1960.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It gets its heartbeat from a GM Performance crate 502 engine generating 502 horsepower! Equipped with GM aluminum heads and bow tie intake. It's being fed through a Holley Sniper II fuel injection system and gets spark from a Sniper Hyperspark system. It also has a nice set of coated headers. Further enhancements include a RAB front runner system with billet brackets, serpentine pulleys, and a one wire alternator. It also features power steering and hydro boost power brakes from CPP. A Griffin aluminum radiator with dual electric fans and a polished overflow bottle keeps it running cool. It has an Optima battery, new horns and hood insulation. The engine bay is neatly painted gloss red.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted real nice red. Inside has sound deadener underneath the insulated carpet that's been custom cut with bound edges. It is completely lined. Behind the rear panel is the upgraded stereo equipment.

UNDERSIDE: It is riding on a Ride Tech HQ suspension which includes Strong Arm tubular control arms, Muscle Bar swaybar, plus coilover adjustable gas shocks in the front and back. Upgraded Wilwood disc brake system with drilled and slotted rotors at all four wheels and the e-brake is hooked up. The extra fat exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers nicely follows the x-frame and winds its way through the rear suspension. The fuel system was replaced including the tank and is compatible with the fuel injection. The 4L60 overdrive automatic transmission has a fresh performance build. The rebuilt driveshaft connects to a fresh looking Currie 9 inch rear end. It was upgraded with Yukon Dura-Grip 31 spline axles and posi 3.70 gears. The floors appear to be clean, solid metal.
