Video Description:
Strandbeest Evolution provides an update on the evolutionary development. Every spring I go to the beach with a new beast. During the summer I do all kinds of experiments with the wind, sand and water. In the fall I grew a bit wiser about how these beasts can survive the circumstances on the beach. At that point I declare them extinct and they go to the bone yard.

amazing! I've watched and watched again and forwarded it on. Thanks.
WOW! And all I do is sit in front of my computer looking at your wonders! You throw your wonder in the boneyard at the end of each season rather than sharing it with a museum or a children's museum? Please don't waste them! They are wonderful..
Ingenious achievement at the boundaries of science and art !
Thank you heartily for this lovely, uplifting video. What joy you bring to others with your magnificent creations. I will be sharing this with many others who will also smile and laugh when they see your exquisite "creatures."
We all go extinct . . . some to a bone yard, but others like me, to an ocean where all life began.
In the beginning there was a wind...then an idea in the mind Theo formed chaos into life.
Astonishing! The beaches are amazing too, where are they?
some of my favorite music! from an old tv series about the sea. Can't remember the name of the show or the music. Invention is incredible.
One of the best if not the best creative expression of genius I have ever viewed! Keep up the amazing creations!
It's a mixture of creepy and truly amazing !
This is difficult to believe what I saw.
this is just plain weird.
Amazing! Brilliant man.
This man is nothing short of a genius. Incredible.
Every time I see what this man creates, I am in awe of his talent. It is a shame to think they go "extinct" - Theo is a truly creative genius.
Really quite remarkable and they show extreme patience....WOW!!
Imagine 'using' this human ingenuity to help save the oceans from e.g. plastic pollution, oil spills, discarded fish nets, etc. instead of creating more pollution. As a naturalist I also watched the seagulls in this video, rather ignoring this new form of human pollution-intrusion into their natural habitat.
They remind me of giant bugs and something out of a science fiction movie. But, very interesting.
Incredible! to design and make these fantastic pieces of moving Art - truly a gift!!
Human creativity never ceases to amaze me. Thank you.
