Video Description:

I carefully colorized, fully restored, and added immersive sound design to this rare footage filmed in Mooresville, North Carolina in the 1930s. As you watch, you can clearly see what daily life looked like in the town during that time — people walking the streets, businesses open and active, families going about their routines. The camera captures so many faces that, if you’re from Mooresville, you might even recognize familiar family names or features passed down through generations. There’s something incredibly special about seeing a community simply living its everyday life nearly a century ago. This footage truly carries the energy, warmth, and authenticity of the era, preserving beautiful moments that connect the past to the present.

video Restoration Process:

I love seeing this old footage . . . a time we will never p*** through again. So happy somehow it was captured for us to see today. A time warp of sorts. How many of these men ended up joining up for WWII. How many made it back. I'm certain when these folks were smiling for the camera, they had no clue we'd be seeing them in 2026. Finally, a movie at the end I can look up.

They All Come Out is a 1939 American crime film . . . (Plot) Kitty is involved with a gang planning a bank robbery when she meets and helps down-and-out Joe in a diner. Joe can't pay for what has been his first meal in three days and has been unable to find work due to a broken wrist that was never set. Kitty recommends him for the bank robbery when a driver is needed. With the gang on the run from the law after the robbery, Kitty is shot and Joe saves her from being left behind. Eventually, the entire gang is captured.
