Ain’t nobody enjoys the creaks and cracks… but we’re all heading there together.
“Getting Old Sucks (But Everybody’s Doing It)” is a funny, brutally honest Delta King’s Blues tune about stiff joints, fading energy, and learning to laugh at the universal ride of getting older.
A gritty, easy-shuffle acoustic guitar keeps the groove moving like an old truck that rattles but still runs.
The harmonica grins and groans at the same time, carrying equal parts humor and truth.
The rhythm rolls slow and steady, built for folks who know aging ain’t pretty — but it sure makes for good stories.
This is blues for everybody feeling the years.
For people who ache a little more, nap a little longer, and laugh a little harder about it.
Getting old may suck… but the alternative ain’t much better.

Love it!!
Here is a white guy singing about getting old being played on a Dobro invented by a Slovak as if they expect us to buy into it being sung by a black man. It Isn't !
I'm thinking this is an AI generated video. I.E. not a real person in the video, it's getting scary how real they're starting to look and sound.
Oh yes so true!
this song is so true,im suffering getting old.
Now this is original and I loved it. And it's the truth. I'm 82 and I identify with it clearly.
As my 90th is creeping up it hit everything
I just started this video and I can already tell -- it's a keeper. Thank you, Mel!
When I wake up in the morning, I'm always grateful to be on this side of the grass! Love this song.
Loved it
I love the song/video….and counting my blessings…..thank you Mel
I like to say that I'm getting ( Old..ER) seems to sound a little better. I'm grateful for every day God gives me.
I love the lyric; I used to make fun of the older folks. Now I'm a punchline to the joke "Perfect." I never made fun, but I sure do know what he is singing about ... NO JOKE! What a good old blues song. The fact that he was smiling and just seemed to be enjoying his life ... I'm smiling with him.
I'm only a 67-year-young woman, but man, I sure know what he is singing about. Neurological problems are NO FUN! But I keep on truckin'. Moving along, as they say. And I do it with a smile.
Thank you, God, for another day.
Good Times. Thank you, Mel. What a great song and video! Happy Fourth of July!
I love being around older folks; as a matter of fact, my best friend was elderly but so cool. I miss her and think of her every day. Yes, I do
Great music!
I keep trying to hang out with people older than me, but it's getting harder to do. There are a lot of people I'm sending this to.
Thanks, Mel...Love this song. However, I'm going on 88 this year and although I have those aches and pains, I am blessed to be growing old. As they say, "Sure beats the alternative."
Love it.
This is my new favorite song. I can completely relate to every word. Hopefully I can listen to it tomorrow.
