Video Description:
I colorized, restored, and created the sound design for this rare video of Chicago in the late 1930s. The footage captures the city’s industrial and coastal atmosphere along some of its major streets and landmarks — South Shore Dr., Jackson Park, Lake Shore Dr., South Chicago Ave, 79th St., and 75th St. It offers a vivid glimpse into everyday life during that era, when the movement of cars, factories, and people reflected the pulse of a growing metropolis.

Wow, so this is what my Mom experienced in here early twenties. It was good to see the Petrillo Bandshell off LSD. Navy Pier (still there today as well). I saw the Marquette Park area too. Ah, it was good to see. Thanks Mel, for the trip down memory lane. Grateful for it.
