Description

Cinnamon Had Quads yesterday afternoon! 2 girls and 2 boys! They are sweet & petite. The little grey doe is one of the smallest kids we have had and at first, I wasn't sure how she would do, but she was able to nurse right from the start and is up walking. Yippeee!

I woke up this morning to find the older kids who are now 48 hours leaping in circles around their pen! They save most of the leaps for when I do not have my camera! The contrast between the two groups of kids (who are less than 30 hours apart in age) was astounding to me, so I tried to capture it for you in this video. Goats condense what takes humans years into hours and it is so fun to watch! You might notice that when they are really little and getting their act together they do a lot of walking backward!

What are their names? (We have a few more that were gifts before we embark on our trip around the world with city names!) Because they are all so small we thought it would be fun to give them names AND nicknames so they really make a splash! The two boys look like mama and are fluffy! One is smaller, he is Aggie (short for Agape). The slightly larger one is Benji (short for Benjamin). The grey, black and white doe is Lulu (short for Honolulu!), the multicolored darker doe is Dimond (we are also calling her Lady Di.)

OK, so here are the sweet stories behind these names that were given as gifts! BENJAMIN turned FIVE this week and his Mimi and Papa named a goat in his honor! On Easter Sunday Angie and Jim Tanner wrote..."AGAPE would be a beautiful name. Agape is the purest of love. Peace and love to you!" Beth Comeau, purchased naming rights in honor of her sister Jennifer's 50th birthday which is TODAY! She wrote, "I would love to have the baby named DIMOND (pronounced like Diamond but no “a”). It’s a name with Irish roots that I’m very proud of (incidentally, Ireland is the only place I’ve been where they instinctively know how to spell it correctly!) and diamond also happens to be my April birthstone. I love the idea of sharing this name and birthstone with one of your beautiful doelings. My dream is to one day be able to have my own goats " Dimond is a shining beauty already! Happy Birthday Jen!!! (We are calling her Lady Di on occasion because it sounds like a diva and a princess and on your 50th you should feel like both!!!! And LULU! The name was a gift for Lauren from her parents for her birthday on May 2nd!
