Most people don't jump at the chance to buy an "untrainable" horse at auction.
But I am not most people.

  • iread Added I hope he gets to stay with you. I used flower essences to help heal my horse. They can release some of that past trauma layer by layer, slowly.
  • [email protected] Added Good for you, Pete was blessed to go to your barn and you are blessed to have such a beautiful animal in your life.
  • CharMaine Added Tragically there are a lot of idiots out there that think they are the "gift". More often, they ruin what is beautiful (this is true of humans as well). This woman is a blessing to all the horses she works with (excellent technique and temperament for a trainer) but especially to Pete. Looks like Pete will always be fearful (can't really blame him) but much less so now than the beginning. Time heals much. Live long Pete and fear not -- says The Lord.
  • Sandi Angel Added GREAT video thanks for sharing it. I love horses, had them into my adult years and this video just broke my heart for Pete. People are so cruel to people but I can't stand it when they're cruel to any animal. Thanks to the 'Clever Cowgirl', Pete is getting another chance and has a kitty watching over him too.
  • Di Added I had horses most of my life and It breaks my heart how some people mistreat them. And sadly, cruelty breaks the horse's heart too because they are a naturally loving creature who just wants to be loved, and they, in turn, love to bond with "their" special person. If given the chance, horses bond just like dogs do. I'm so grateful for people like this young woman who understands horses so much and helps them.
  • Su B Added It is sad that the animal gets branded due to the owner/handler's bad behaviour. Thanks, Mel.
  • CathyAnn Added I greatly admire what you are doing with such horses. It's amazing how Pete has changed. It clearly demonstrates such horses aren't hopeless. A lot of patience, love and knowledge of horses makes all the difference.
  • maureen w. Added Thank you for this amazing video. I commend this girl for her patience and love to this beautiful horse, Pete. He got that second chance. Amen.
  • Mary Jane Added Great video, so happy she was able to rescue Pete.
  • Mari Added Horses never forget!!! We need so many more trainers like this patient woman. I thank God Pete found her, but all his memories can never be erased; just modified. Thank you, Mel.
  • Patricia Yager Delagrange Added That was a fantastic video and thank you for sharing. Since I own a horse and am at the barn a lot this is really interesting to watch.
  • Ham Todd Added My hat is off to this lady. She is just amazing and what she did with Pete is wonderful.
  • anonymous Added One in a million, this wonderful lady.
  • Barb Added Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful woman's story with her Pete!! Wish we could clone hundreds of her to go to auctions and save all these misunderstood and abused souls. God blessed her with patience and understanding to do exactly what she's doing!
  • Larry Added Loved this story. Thanks for sharing it Mel.
  • Paul Added Good story !
  • Becky Added She certainly took action & knows her training abilities for individual horses. I would vote all horse or dog or any animal trainer to have to be certified by their state - background checks etc.. Bless her at saving Pete & others........I agree she is a Angel on earth ..
  • Rachel Added Great story!!!
  • Beth Added I Love her videos, thank you Mel. I cannot wait to see the next one. She is an angel on earth for the animals that she saves, such a needed hero in the animal world!
