All the videos on my website are embedded from Youtube. From what little information I can find Youtube is testing turning off videos for certain users that are not logged into a Youtube account or using a VPN to view videos. If you have a Youtube account, please try logging in and see if you can then view the videos on https://mvotd.com. If you're using a VPN, try turning it off to view the videos. There are a few other work arounds but they are pretty confusing to use. If you have the skills you might try searching Google for "Youtube Sign in to confirm you're not a bot" for a fix. I didn't see any that looked easy. Our best hope is that Youtube completes their test and realizes this is a big mistake. Until then, please check in daily to see if you still getting the error message. Sorry it took so long to figure out what was going on with this. Mel

Description

This video follows the journey of Skeletor, a rescued horse undergoing rehabilitation. The narrator shares updates on Skeletor's health challenges, particularly focusing on a recent flare-up of swelling in his hind legs, and the efforts made to diagnose and treat his condition.

Initial Health Concerns

Swelling and Pain: Skeletor's two hind fetlocks became swollen and hot, causing him significant discomfort and difficulty standing. The swelling spread to his hocks, prompting concern about a potential underlying genetic condition.

Veterinary Consultation: A veterinarian was consulted to assess Skeletor's condition. There was a suspicion of degenerative suspensory ligament desmitis (DSLD), a genetic disorder affecting ligaments, which can manifest later in life.

Diagnostic Tests: A serum amyloid A (SAA) test indicated a high level of inflammation in Skeletor's body, suggesting a possible viral or bacterial infection. Blood tests were conducted to provide further insights into his health status.

Treatment and Management

Anti-Inflammatory Treatment: Skeletor was given anti-inflammatory medication to manage pain and swelling. His legs were wrapped with a poultice to reduce inflammation and heat.

Monitoring and Care: The narrator monitored Skeletor closely, observing improvements in his condition and adjusting treatment as needed. Skeletor's legs showed signs of recovery, with swelling decreasing over time.

Future Care Plans: Discussions with the veterinarian included potential use of special shoes to alleviate pressure on his tendons. The narrator expressed hope for Skeletor's continued improvement and comfort.

Emotional Challenges and Reflection

Emotional Impact: The uncertainty surrounding Skeletor's health was emotionally taxing for the narrator, who reflected on the challenges of rehabilitating horses with complex medical issues.

Comparisons to Past Experiences: The narrator recounted experiences with another horse, Mort, who faced similar health challenges and was eventually euthanized due to persistent issues.

Hope and Resilience: Despite the difficulties, the narrator remained hopeful about Skeletor's future, noting signs of his return to normal behavior and spirit.

Conclusion

The video concludes with a message of optimism for Skeletor's recovery and a reminder of the importance of living in the moment with him. The narrator plans to continue monitoring Skeletor's progress and provide updates in the future.
