Andre Rieu - A Valentine's Day to remember
Description
Valentine's Day and I’m travelling home to surprise my wife ... and not for the first time. About 45 years ago I was a young student returning from the Conservatoire in Brussels to Maastricht to see my young bride … but it nearly didn’t happen.
Before boarding the train I spent my last coins on a bunch of red roses for Marjorie. Arriving at the train station I realised I didn’t have enough money for the ticket home!
On a platform with roses in my hand and despair on my face, a stranger overheard my plight, she approached me and offered to pay my fare home.
I don’t know who this person was. But I have never forgotten the kindness of this stranger. Who ever you are I thank you from the bottom of my heart and so does Marjorie.
Happy Valentines Day to you all.
