Description

This cat was so aggressive that her mom had to wear knee-high boots around the house — then something changed

Video Script:: the shelter had deemed her as not an adoptable cat but she appeared and I was up for the task I didn't know the extent but I definitely was ready to commit whatever it took but first first he hid completely and I could barely get to her and then she decided she would be chasing literally chasing me around the room I had to wear knee-high boots and then little by little this wall in front of her would just come down momentarily and in those moments I knew there was something there I knew there was somebody that was was gonna eventually surface and I decided at that point just give her her space she's telling me all this time she just needs her own timeline and my own selfish need to smother her needs to subside and then one night at like 4:00 in the morning or something I just woke up and she was all over me and the rest was history I'm at the point now where I sometimes I think I need to get a restraining order because she'll not leave me alone I mean she's too cute it should be illegal she is so easy and in tune with me it I feel like she's just an extension of me somehow she is just my sidekick she's with me as much as I want her as much as I need her and there is a lot of depth in the connection with an animal it's it's beyond just their helplessness they're voiceless NIST and and that the need I have to take care of her because of that there's some sort of reciprocal chemistry between us and it's very comforting I think the only thing I can think to compare it to is I feel like a mother with her and I just need her to always be happy healthy content I got a lot a lot of messages about people that are struggling with cats that have aggression asking me for tips and you know there's all different methods but I guess I just really hope that people are fully aware that time is the most essential thing I was lucky it took about a month for me but sometimes it might take a year just kind of letting go of that kind of selfish need to connect and really realizing that you're kind of there for the animal and you're there to make their lives as comfortable as possible and that's it that's a very kind of profound experience if you really tap into it you realize how how much you can gain from that kind of relationship like comment and subscribe

  • Lynne Henderson Added This is so true. So many cats get deemed unadoptable immediately and get euthanatized by shelters who, like this one, given time would be wonderful pets. So very sad.
