First try refreshing your browser or try another browser. If that doesn't work, read the following.
All the videos on my website are embedded from Youtube. From what little information I can find Youtube is testing turning off videos for certain users that are not logged into a Youtube account or using a VPN to view videos. If you have a Youtube account, please try logging in and see if you can then view the videos on https://mvotd.com. If you're using a VPN, try turning it off to view the videos. There are a few other work arounds but they are pretty confusing to use. If you have the skills you might try searching Google for "Youtube Sign in to confirm you're not a bot" for a fix. I didn't see any that looked easy. Our best hope is that Youtube completes their test and realizes this is a big mistake. Until then, please check in daily to see if you still getting the error message. Sorry it took so long to figure out what was going on with this. Mel
Description
Hello guys and welcome back to another episode with Rare Historical Photos, taking us on a photographic journey into the past.
Could this man from the 19th century, be the original Batman OR the Real Life Batman, who inspired DC Comics to create the fictional character in 1939? This photograph of an old guy with a bushy beard, wearing a Batman mask has been circulating on the internet for some time, and it has been claimed it depicts a man named Bill Smith, who worked as a butcher in New York City in the 1870s. He was a farm labourer from England who migrated to New York, in search for a better life. Allegedly, after his shop was repeatedly targeted by shoplifters, he started catching and punching thieves, soon gaining notoriety as a vigilante. He even patrolled his neighbourhood by night, donning a Batman mask, on the lookout for criminals. Unfortunately, after some internet research, however, we came upon a Facebook page belonging to the Marvellini brothers, who run an art workshop that specialises in creating vintage-looking photographs. And there he was, the Dark Knight himself! So, could this, once again, be the original Batman from the 19th century? It's quite implausible, but nevertheless, it's a fun fictitious story.
