People drop off trees for the goats! #Video

Goats have two favorite feasts each year! Late summer they finally get to eat all the sunflowers once we are done enjoying their blooms! And the day after Christmas, people begin dropping off their Christmas trees for the goats who eat off all the needles and bark and then use the tree skeletons to rub against in the spring to get out all their undercoat! Today the first tree arrived and we put it in the buck pen with Texas Hold’em and his 5 lucky ladies. He is a jumper, but we figure goats in heat and a tasty tree should keep him from leaping over the fence! He had an exciting Christmas and likely bred both Acadia and Honeysuckle! Can’t wait to see their babies in 145 days!! There is so much build up to the holidays, sometimes the day after it’s over when we can relax a bit and dial back all the varied emotion is the sweetest day of all. The goats sure are enjoying it thanks to your deliveries! (If you have a tree that you would like to go to recycle, you can leave it along our fence line and we will feed a couple to the goats each day.)
