I managed a dude ranch in Texas in the 80s . Thereis no way I would EVER had allowed them to drink from an algae covered ditch of water. I had thgwo 500 gallon tanks that were fed with fresh water. No bugs, no algae. The tanl]ks were drained every weel and replenished.
