I can't hardly get through a touching video like this one without feeling the pain of their loss. What a remarkable trade they had had all those years!

Americana at its best. When men were still men. I salute you sir, for your ultimate service to this great nation. And your father, Walter, for his invaluable service on the home front. I suppose they are together in heaven by now; but Jaret will carry on the family tradition that his grandpa and father lay before him. A beautiful tight-knit family story not many of us can lay claim to.

I agree with the idea that being a cobbler is a dying art. Our town used to have one when I was young, but higher pay and health care lured them away.

This was a wonderful story. Not because someone died, that is sad, especially for the family. But, this is a true "American Family". More than ever, we need that right now! I believe in the story, those are good people in a good community, doing good. Thanks much for sharing.

This video made me tear up as I was reminded of the letter my parents got in March of 1968 when my brother, Mike, was killed in Viet Nam. If you are reading this, please pray for the families of all our hero's that gave their lives for the land of the free and the home of the brave. Thank you so much!

I could smell the leather; it reminded me so much of the shoemaker I used to frequent when young and living in Queens, NY. Brought back many good memories.

Shoe repair is a lost art; at least around this region. Sad! Theses wonderful people are what Americana used to be....I'm 83, so I know what this country used to be like. Thank you, Mel.
