Mugshots are typically crude or briskly done, with those in the mugshot looking rather unpleasant, but some of the best looking mugshots shown in this video are practically 'en par' with models getting ready for a fashion runway. Soon after the invention of photography in the 1840's, police hopped on the bandwagon, and began to take photographs of individuals who had a brush with the law to create records in aid of identification. However, it wasn't until 1888 when mugshots, as we know them today, were standardized by a French criminologist, Alphonse Bertillon, shown here taking his own mugshot. Arrest mugshots in the modern era are now published by law enforcement agencies on their public websites, and now many of these mugshots circulate freely on the internet. With this never-ending supply of photographs, many have caught the attention of the public with their extraordinarily good looks. Unbelievably so, a few of these hottest mugshots were even offered real jobs as models, like Jeremy Meeks and Mekhi Alante Lucky.
