Today we invited our young chickens out of their house for the first time. Despite having the door open all morning, they were pretty shy about coming out into the pasture. Every single goat took their turn coming over to peek into the chicken door and see what the heck was going on in there. I’m not sure if they wanted them to come out or not, little Shirley did slam their door shut somehow, and Thistle spent some time with her body directly in front of the door blocking the chickens exit! So maybe they’re not sure about sharing their space in the field. When one very brave chicken finally made it out, all the goats were very interested in its adventures! Looking for a name for the brave chicken! 5 more in the hutch and a couple just started laying!
