Description

Remembering the Decade When We Loved Our Cars – (And They Loved Us Back!) For many Americans, the decade of the 1950s was a magical time. We were enjoying a mix of post-war prosperity, social cohesion, and technological advancements that created a sense of optimism and progress. You might say that this sense of optimism found its way into the automobiles of the time. Whether it was a classic Chevy, Ford, Oldsmobile, or Cadillac, our cars represented something more than just a mode of transportation – it symbolized progress, status, and the freedom of the open road. In this video, we take a look back at the decade of the 1950s, and how the cars of the era enhanced our lives and helped make it such a special and memorable time.

  • Verda Added They don't mention that the climate is being destroyed, thanks to these cars and their use of fossil fuels.
  • Glenn L. Added Thanks for the nostalgic trip..
  • Charlie G. Added THANKS MEL !!! ONE FACT THAT WAS OMMITED WAS THAT THE AVERAGE PERSON COULD TUNE UP OR REPAIR THESE WONDERFULL CARS WITH A LITTLE COMMON SENCE AND BASIC HAND TOOLS VERY AFFORDABLY . UNLIKE THE ROLLING COMPUTERS THAT WE ARE BURDENED WITH TODAY . SOMEWHERE ALONG THE LINE THE CONCEPT OF GOING FROM POINT A TO POINT B WAS DROWNED BY TECHNOLOGY !!!!!!
    STAY SAFE ! C. G.
