You might say that this sense of optimism found its way into the automobiles of the time. Whether it was a classic Chevy, Ford, Oldsmobile, or Cadillac, our cars represented something more than just a mode of transportation – it symbolized progress, status, and the freedom of the open road.     THANKS MEL !!! ONE FACT THAT WAS OMMITED WAS THAT THE AVERAGE PERSON COULD TUNE UP OR REPAIR THESE WONDERFULL CARS WITH A LITTLE COMMON SENCE AND BASIC HAND TOOLS VERY AFFORDABLY . UNLIKE THE ROLLING COMPUTERS THAT WE ARE BURDENED WITH TODAY . SOMEWHERE ALONG THE LINE THE CONCEPT OF GOING FROM POINT A TO POINT B WAS DROWNED BY TECHNOLOGY !!!!!!
