13 lucky goat kid playdate! #Video

Today, all 13 babies who have been born in the last week got out of their stalls to meet each other! The youngest are just 12 hours old, the oldest are almost one week! They had a great time and the moms did a great job of keeping track of which kids were theirs when they needed a drink break! We let the babies and their moms stay in individual stalls for about their first two weeks so that they form a really strong bond and have plenty of opportunities to drink milk and get really healthy. But it can be a little boring for the mothers and the kids need some practice, hopping around with other kids and learning that they can’t nurse from other mothers before we set them free in the pasture in their third week. So each day they spend some time out in the barn playing around. It is always my favorite time of day.
