then stick around as we count down our top picks for the rarest most beautifully colored horses in the world number 10 the Appaloosa the Appaloosa is an American horse breed best known for its colorful spotted coat pattern artwork depicting these beautiful horses goes as far back as prehistoric cave paintings in Europe each horses color pattern is the result of various spotting patterns overlaid on top of a base coat color the color pattern of the Appaloosa is of interest to those who study eques and color genetics as it is closely related to a phenomenon known as leopard complex mutation unfortunately the same mutation has been linked to abnormalities in the eyes and vision which can lead to blindness and horse's beauty definitely has its price number nine the roan quarterhorse flashy and popular roads come in every shade from red to black to yellow thanks to the stunning silver color of their bodies you can spot them from a mile away the rhone gene produces a whitish color pattern over any base color although it is easiest to see on darker colors due to the contrast the white hairs intermix with color hairs across the horse's entire body leaving only the head and legs untouched in giving the body a shiny silvery appearance sometimes a roan will even have a concentration of white hairs above the eyes making the horse appear to have white eyebrows number eight the frisian Gypsy Vanner the sheer beauty of a frisian Gypsy Vanner crossbreed horse would mesmerize anyone they are very sturdy horses with heavy bone flat knee and a short back they come in a variety of colors the most common is black and white and a wide variety of solid colors all colors are highly prized but what truly sets the Gypsy banners apart is their abundance of mane tail and feather the feather begins at the knee and fully covers the hooves meanwhile the Mane's and Tails are extremely long thick and flowing often covering the eyes the Gypsy Vanner is truly magic in motion appearing to float as they move number seven black forest horse this beauty has the longest luscious mane you've ever seen as the name suggests the black forest horse evolved in the Black Forest in southwest Germany and mainly used for working purposes because of their grace elegance and beauty the black forest farmers refer to these horses as the pearls of the Black Forest sometimes it is also called the golden retriever of the horse world because it's blonde mane and tail perfectly contrast it's super shiny dark coat the black forest horse is always chestnut with a white or silvery mane and tail no other color may be registered making this horse breed a true rarity number six the nab strauber anyone can spot the difference between an AB strucker and a regular horse get it the nab stripper is a Danish horse breed with an unusual range of coat coloration and a lot of them actually look exactly like a Dalmatian dog this spotted color patterns common in the nab stripper are a result of the leopard complex and also seen in other breeds such as the Apple loose a horse you saw a minute ago although the two breeds are completely unrelated and developed independently from one another only very few nab strippers are born with solid colors such as BAE or chestnut may you always see spots before your eyes have you seen a doctor no just spots number 5 American Paint Horse yet another unique fact about these horses are their eyes while most horses tend to have brown eyes horses with pattern coats like the American paints are more likely to have blue eyes number four the blue roan Gypsy Vanner the blue roan version of the beautiful Gypsy Vanner is considered the most rare like other gypsy horses this breed features luscious leg feathering and an incredible long and thick mane giving the impression that it's truly flowing while galloping what sets this version apart is its shiny dark blue coat making the blue roan and even rare form of original Gypsy Vanner a
