According to the team at Elephant Highlands, June frequently slips away from her shelter in the afternoon to set off on little adventures in the surrounding fields. She almost always takes her chance while her mahouts are taking their lunch break!

Once little June realizes she’s been away from her mother for a bit too long, she blasts loud trumpets that echo right across the park. Luckily, her mother is always ready. As soon as she hears June calling, she rushes over and guides her little wanderer safely back into the shelter.

It’s such a heartwarming reminder of the bond between a mother elephant and her calf. No matter how far June wanders on her adventures, Mom always knows how to bring her home!
