Both Grandma Lily (65+) and Som Pond (45) spent decades working in the logging industry before moving to tourist riding camps in Pattaya. They were recently rescued and brought to Elephant Nature Park, where they can finally live free from work and exploitation.
Today, we brought Lily and Som Pond together to give them a chance to meet and get to know each other. We hope that, with time, trust, and patience, these two gentle souls will develop a special bond and become true friends.
Friendship among rescued elephants cannot be forced or rushed. Today is simply about giving Lily and Som Pond the space, time, and safety they need to get used to each other's presence, listen to one another's calls, and decide how they wish to connect.
We all hope this is the beginning of a beautiful new chapter in both their lives, filled with kindness, happiness, and the freedom they have always deserved.
