Wow, this is a rare and desirable Impala! This triple black convertible is loaded with some really rare factory options. A 4-speed convertible with factory a/c was unusual and it doesn't stop there; how about 25 factory options from a tilt-telescopic wheel and power seat to a dash mounted clock! It's also a sweetheart of a car, it functions and drives like new.

EXTERIOR: Looking down the sides (all 18 ft of it) it is straight! I don't see any rust or damage; the panels line up beautifully. repainted its original Tuxedo Black color according to the tag. It is polished like a mirror, only a few minor imperfections. The chrome and trim are in excellent shape. It has optional bumper guards, dual bowtie mirrors, body side moldings and factory door edge guards. The windshield was replaced. The black power convertible top was replaced. It's sitting real pretty on a set of 15x7 inch rally wheels, and they are wearing reproduction Wide Oval red lines with radial technology.

INTERIOR: I'm impressed just sitting in this car because of the condition and all the options it has. Up on the padded dash is a clock that has a quartz movement, in front of me is a factory tachometer, AM/FM stereo with factory kick panel speakers and a tilt-telescopic wheel. Under the dash is the red hazard warning light and power top switches. Down on the floor is new carpet, reproduction mats, deluxe seatbelts, and the original bench seat style 4-speed shifter with the reverse lockout. I'm sitting on a strato bench seat with the fold down armrest and it's a power seat! The windows are power too. Like I said earlier, the condition is excellent. It seems that everything is working properly too, the original radio sounds great! It has the glove box pouch with manuals.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a period correct 327 built like an L79 350 hp. It has the double hump heads, a factory aluminum high rise intake and a dual feed Holley carb. It's correctly dressed in chrome dual snorkel air cleaner and valve covers. It is a factory air conditioned car, the system's been rebuilt and updated. It also has power steering and a new power brake system upgraded with a dual reservoir master. It has reproduction battery cables, correct radiator, shroud, and clutch fan. The squirters are hooked up, it has hood insulation. Everything is clean and proper looking.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are gloss black. Inside is solid and spatter painted. The decal, well liner, trunk mat and weather strip were replaced. It has a rally wheel for a spare with a tire that's never been used and the original jack assembly.

UNDERSIDE: The front end looks like it's been gone through: ball joints, sway bar bushings, steering components look fresh. It back it has a panhard bar, new shocks and an added swaybar. Upgraded with a disc brake conversion in front, the e-brake cables are hooked up. Great sounding Flowmaster exhaust with a crossover pipe. The fuel tank was replaced. The floors are restored, they're all clean metal and painted satin black. Looking up at the motor it's clean and has a factory type starter and the correct canister type oil filter. This was born a 4-speed car and it has a correct M-20 Muncie in it now.

SERVICE: We inspected the car and repainted the hood and replaced a tailpipe.

Don't compare this to other Impalas, those aren't this car! This one makes a great first impression because it is beautiful and restored to high quality. Once you drive it and realize how great it functions you will appreciate just how nice it really is. The rare options really separate it from the others!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
