  • BA Added Wow Mel, I love these old videos. Thanks
  • Margaret Added I didn't see Detroit in the video, which certainly boosted the middle class!
  • CharMaine Added My comment about the Comments: All pleasant recollections of a great nation and her citizens.

We all KNOW how life in America was so much better before the scum in state legislations and WDC ruined our honorable nation with their greedy, destructive policies.

How blessed we are to be able to say, "I remember when . . . " and smile with fond memories.
  • Sandra Added I really enjoyed this video--I was born in 1955 and I remember my mom always wore a dress to do grocery shopping and would not leave the house without her make up on and her hair done. I am so glad she brought me up that way too.
  • Marty Added Wish there had been photos of San Diego back in the day. Grew up in National City but mom and I went shopping a lot in S.D.
  • Marty Added What I love the most about these types of videos was how they dressed back then. The men dressed in suits with ties and the women wore nice dresses. Of course, hats were big for both of them. I also liked the shot that showed the old station wagon with the fake wood paneling on the side. I was born in 1958 and my Grandma had one of those that we would ride around in whenever she kept my sister and me. Great pictures, Mel!
  • mercedes Added Interesting video! I grew up in the 50's, but on a farm. My hometown of Indio, CA has since grown from 5000 population to 100,000 population today! UGH!
  • Wayne Added I had to watch it twice~!! The first time I was scanning the cars to see how many I could identify, even with most of the car obscured. Today, there's no difference but then, we knew a 56 Ford, a 55 Chevrolet and earlier models, right away and I even saw a Hudson and several Studebaker's~!! I better look at it again - I might have missed a car.
  • Lola Added Loved this Video!!! The Era I love best is the 50's!!!! We lived in Chicago then!!!
  • Randy Ferguson Added In my hometown in the 50's we didn't have any skyscrapers. There were a few stores that were 2 story buildings, but most were single story. I remember the cars that we had back then. Those were the days! Thanks for posting this video, Mel.
  • Merridy Added Loved it
  • Mary Jane Added Very interesting, a bit before my time, but cool to see.
  • Annette Added Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
  • Paul Added Love these videos and the memories they wake up !!
  • Beth Added That was fun, thank you!!!
