  • Su Added He mentions Avacado, but neglects Harvest Gold and Copper. Smile.
  • CathyAnn Added When appliances were avacado green, there was a choice for a mustard yellow too, just as popular, I think... and what about the shag carpets???
  • Wilma Added Hi Mel….I love the dog videos ! Please repeat up the one with the dogs greeting owners when they get home…it was AMAZING :smiley:thanks !
  • Marie Newell Added Thanks, for the reminders of those years. I loved them all. I had the Harvest Gold appliances.
    I always enjoy your video's.
  • Nancy Added These were great years. Never got my avocado kitchen, only a blender.
  • Mary Jane Added I remember these and a few of them I'm happy are gone. Lovely trip back in time.
  • Ron Added The video forgot to mention that another draw of the soda fountain was the JUTEBOX (you know, that record playing machine) not to forget the 45 rpm's of the times or the (as a teenage male) the waitresses were teenage females.
  • iotus2 Added Loved the Drive-In movies. Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In! Dancing in the school gym on Friday nights were always fun. Hanging out at the soda fountain was the place to meet. Thanks, Mel.
  • Charlie Added Great! Thanks, Mel!
  • Yamini Redewill Added You forgot shag rugs that were ofter avocado green and foster freeze and rootbeer floats.Nd drive in coffee shops with waitresses in roller skates. Otherwise very good.
  • BA Added I remember all of this Mel. Thanks for the memories.
  • Merridy Added MEMORIES :-)
  • Noreen Added What a great, safe way to grow up. I remember being very young, having the job of putting either a card with 1 or 2 on it in the front window for the ice man!!!! School was cancelled if the snow storm was too bad. The two school bus drivers would decide if it was too bad for the buses to travel. How simple our lives were.
  • Patricia Yager Delagrange Added Yep - I remember most of this stuff though I was quite young.
  • Martin Added I got a kick out of the milk delivery one. My Dad was a milkman back in the 60's and 70's. One reason that home delivery went out was that, as more women were entering the work force, no one was at home to be there when the deliveries were made. You can't leave dairy products on the door step very long. A lot of these bring a tear to an old man's eyes! LOL! Thanks Mel.
  • Paul Added Amazing how things change through the years !!
  • Kathy Added Amazing how trends seem to slide from one to the next in such a short time.
  • Gwendy Added Slinky!
  • Bonnie Added Not a thing, but rather an fun tradition... 'MAY DAY' on May 1st of every year is sadly unknown to many.
  • Rosemary Added I had a set of avocado green stainless steel pots and pans that I ordered from the Sears and Roebuck catalog in 1972.
