Video Description:

A backyard pool becomes a quiet meeting point between humans and bears. Maddie’s gentle visits, playful cubs, and return after wildfires turned an ordinary home into part of a much bigger story.

Thank you, Mel, for sharing. And a HUGE "THANK YOU" to the homeowners for their insight, comp***ion and dedication to ALL of life!

    Fantastic.

This was a wonderful video. Great watching the bears enjoying life, especially in the pool!

  • Randy Ferguson

Cool video! The only animal I get are stray cats.

  • Michelle

Touching story! The bears already lived there before people decided to build houses there. It’s nice to see this family respects that instead of trying to keep the bears out.

What a place to live . . . a zoo right outside your very door. How cool is that when a special bear stops by to just say hello and use the pool. Babies in tow. Livin' the dream.

  • Jeremy

Wonderful story folks, but did you ever get to see if they would be friendly with you if you ventured out?

  • Kathy

Wonderful video and such good and caring people. I enjoy seeing wildlife and appreciating them but I don't think it's a good idea to have the bears in the pool and so close to the people. If a pool could be built for the bears away from the people's property, it would be a better idea.

So glad to know Maddie and cubs are safe from the fires . I was holding my breath there for awhile but sigh came over me . I don't think there will be any poolside parties here at this residence..lol Nope!
I agree with johnboos comment. If all possible, build another pool just for them :) And secure off the property.
Setup a near by camera so the residence can watch and enjoy God's creatures.
What a great video Mel. Thank you so much. Stay safe and warm. Looks like another snowfall coming our way . Be careful sleigh riding ...lo. :grinning: ) .

    Interesting Video----thanks for posting!
I wonder if they can use their pool--I wish they had said.
I always heard that a mama bear with cubs is extremely dangerous.

  • Ham Todd

    Wow!

They're a very lucky family, but they can't swim in the pool with Maddie and the cubs. The situation may be co-existential, but still dangerous. I'd build an another pool for the bears in the forest, and keep the bears out of the property.
