We don’t always get to choose what happens to us. Plans unravel, circumstances change, and life has a way of interrupting even our most peaceful moments. But we do have some say in what happens next, and in how much power we allow those moments to hold over us.
Acceptance doesn’t mean pretending that everything is fine, or denying the frustration or fear that may be present. Sometimes it simply means taking a breath, letting go of the fight with what already is, and choosing how we want to respond from here.
It’s a daily practice, and we won’t always get it right. Some days we fall back into resistance and old habits. But each new moment gives us another chance to pause and choose again.

Beautiful video. Great advise for anyone , especially when you reach that age in later life. I'm 86 and can relate to everything the gentleman said. I sure can't get things done like I used to, but I get them done. I have a beautiful wife and many dogs and cats on our farm and we look forward to waking up every day. Life is good.
Well, it is good to know that I'm not the only a bit frustrated with not being able to do what I used to do. I keep asking myself what is wrong with me? I guess it's all those damn candles these days. Thanks for sharing this. I really enjoyed his "taking that cake walk into town" tune.

At 84, I can relate to the man really well and his wisdom is off the charts good.
Very sage advice. I'm in my 80's and was recently reminded to "Pick your fights". To me that means to not sweat the small stuff and decide if it's truly worth it to get upset or anxious, or downright angry at something. Most of the time it isn't at all worth the angst.

This was GREAT--I wish I could pick up all my instruments and play but as I get older & older it gets too difficult for me BUT I've reached the age where it doesn't matter anymore. The advice he gave was right on--Thanks for sharing!!
