I wonder why the condors are tagged on their wings. Hmmm. Ah, here's why: California Condor | The Peregrine Fund: "Condors are tagged on their wings (patagial tags) instead of their legs because their large size and habit of urinating on their legs to cool down (urohydrosis) would quickly cover leg bands in caked feces, making them unreadable and potentially harmful."
