Squirrel gets woman to babysit her kids #Video

Years ago, my wife found a squirrel in our back yard that was just a day or maybe just hours old. She was lying on the ground and were covered in ants, barely alive. She got the ants off her and took her into our house. She named her "Nuzzles" because that's what she would do as she grew up. We had her for about 6 months nursed her back to health. The day came that we had to let her go back outside. We didn't just take her out and leave her. She had a cage that she would stay in and we took it outside with the door closed for a few nights to acclimate her to the outside. Then, we took her outside but we left the door open. We'd check on her for about a week and she was getting where she wouldn't come into her cage, she was up in the trees. After we took the cage back in, over the next few weeks, we would go outside and look for her and she might see us and come and jump on our shoulder for a while as we sat and talked with each other.I don't know what happened, but after about a year, she quit coming up. We both hoped that she was back wild and doing well. It was very rewarding though.

What a beautiful story of a super special friendship. That is such a cool thing to be able to experience. Amazing.

Great story! When I was in college, one day I met one of my professors as we were in the same "E;" car on the Jerome Avenue Line in The Bronx. So we walked the half mile to school together but instead of the usual entrance, this lady wanted to proceed to a promenade through the North Lawn. As we walked, all of the squirrels came to her. The professor used to feed them. I learned of the love of these animals and their personalities from then. Then we learn that all animals have emotions.

Nice story but getting that close to that type of animal isn't good for them or people.

We had 2 that were very friendly living in Wiesbaden, Germany off the Kur Park. They work come to the door every morning for cashews.
