Man Builds His Own Affordable Off-Grid Tiny House #Video

Ivan designed and built his own off-grid tiny house on a budget and he's been living in it for 3 years in Bulgaria. It's basically an off-grid studio apartment. It's 420 square feet and has solar power for electricity, propane for cooking, a well for water (previously rainwater collection), and a septic tank for waste. He says that learning to build was powerful knowledge for him because it made homeownership accessible. And he wants to share what he has learned with others by starting to create a video guide that shows how to build a tiny house.

The reason behind this project is that Ivan wanted a place to play music without bothering anybody, but he also wanted to live a normal life like in a city apartment but also wanted the perks of living off grid, being self sufficient, not having utility bills, being solar powered, etc.

He built the tiny house on pillars on a small piece of agricultural land and had to follow specific rules related to the local land rules, including one about making sure the house remained movable.

This is the third home he has built so far – he built and lived in his first tiny house for a year and a half, and also built a home for his neighbour as well!
