Video Description:
Every winter, the Arctic tundra becomes a world of endless white. Yet somehow, one small predator blends into the snow almost perfectly. The Arctic fox is famous for changing its coat with the seasons—appearing bright white during winter and turning brown or gray when summer arrives. But how exactly does that transformation happen?
In this episode of History of Simple Things, we explore the fascinating biology behind how Arctic foxes change color with the seasons. From the role of daylight and hormones to the molting process and pigment changes inside their fur, this remarkable adaptation helps the fox survive in one of the harshest environments on Earth.

I was just listening to a physician earlier speak about staving off the decline of the brain as we get older. He was basically saying that as long as we keep learning, and engaging with knowledge, in-depth conversations, etc. -- basically exercising the brain throughout the day, we keep the brain active which will take us into our 90's sharp as a tack. I think watching things like History of Simple Things, regardless of the topic helps us do just that. I am truly grateful you post these Mel. It's your contribution to Senior Care.
