What a couple of heroes . . . let's blame this on God. He put a special place in their hearts for these precious birds. They do require a lot of engagement so if you are a bit of a loner, or unengaging, a parrot is not a good fit. For those who love to engage with these smarties, they are the ones that both thrive.
