Dogs are really smart. You can teach them just about anything. I taught my dog to smile after I had his teeth cleaned for the first time and it cost over 400$. From then on, I wanted to see those pearly whites. I think it's cool. Our little helpers. They have a much fuller life when they have a job or two to do. It's very rewarding for them.
