Description

In all the years that I have been sharing videos, I have never struggled this much about "Should I or should I not share a particular video".
Today's video is going to make a lot of people shed tears, I know I did; but hopefully it will also help bring a little bit of closure to those that have lost a beloved pet.

  • kay Added I have seen a similiar video and watched a movie about our best friend passing. While it is sad we have the benefit of knowing love beyond realization, but if you are a Christian you know they are joining a higher family. No more pain but a very happy ending. Thank you Mel
  • Jerry Cobb Added Mel, Thanks to you and to Vaila for showing it. It was difficult to watch and listen to. It took me until tonight (Sunday) to watch, but I can understand her feelings and know I will someday experience the same loss - that is if I outlive BeeGee (I am 80 years old). He adopted us unexpectedly about six years ago and immediately became an integral part of our family. He is a beautiful, loving, and trusting 140 pound Akita and Siberian Husky mix who insists on patrolling the neighborhood daily regardless of the weather and has become the neighborhood mascot with a large fan club. I try to avoid the thought of someday losing him, but know I can take comfort in the knowledge that we have made a good home for him and he has enriched our lives as well as those of his many neighborhood friends. Thanks again.
  • Carol Segal Added A pet becomes a part of one's life and is always difficult to lose no matter how long or short a time one has lived with it.
  • Lovey Added Hard to watch if you've lost a beloved pet - and I've lost 4. They make our lives so much better, especially during a pandemic. I would have been crazy the last two years if it hadn't been for my wonderful, loving dog. The dog Laura had a life full of love and that's what her "mom" needs to remember.
  • Susan Added Thigis is very meaningful to anyone who has ever loved an animal. Thank you Mel for sharing this video. It's healing and I'm so glad you decided to put it out there for us.
  • Bill B Added sorry about your loss ,and thanks for shairong.
  • VITORIA Added I HAVE 2 THAT IS GOING TO BE 17 IN MAY AND I AM WALKING ON EGGS NOT KNOWING WHICH ONE GOES FIRST, WHAT TIME, OF WHAT AND SO ON. I LIVE IN AGONY AWAITING FOR THAT TIME BUT FOR MY HAPPINESS THEY ARE OLD BUT THEY ARE FINE, STILL PLAY, BARKS AND RUN LIKE CRAZY WHEN I GET HOME. THE 3 OF US SLEEPS TOGETHER, THEY ARE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE AND MY BLESSING. I AM 79 WITH NO FAMILY, AS YOU CAN SEE THE LOSS WILL HIT ME HARD. THANK YOU FOR SHARING.
  • Carol Added That video sure hit home. I lost my Hershey dog a few months ago and I still see him sitting in his chair by the front door watching for me to come home. I miss him so much as part of my heart went with him.
  • Tuula Added Thank you for sharing your thoughts . You put in the words those feelings most of us have in that difficult time .
  • BA Added This lady should remind herself that her doggie had a happy life because of her. Her video is a testimony to the love they had for one another. Try to remember that your other dogs and cat need you too and they also have a limited amount of time with her. When they are alive we think they will be here forever but they aren't. Live for the moment with them , I too lost 2 rescued dogs and a cat in 2021 and I too questioned if I did too much or too little to keep them with me. It hurts blaming oneself for the demise of a loved animal and too many people don't understand the love shared with an animal. God Bless you Mrs. and thanks for this beautiful video. I wish I had like you taken more pictures but I never thought the day would come without them. I didn't wash my sheets for 2 months because I didn't want my last loss' smell and imaginary presence of cells to be lost. I due understand.
  • James Added So sad to watch when our dogs time is drawing near . They are our children and as the years have gone on it gets harder and harder to say goodbye . This time I hope it happens at home where they feel safe with familiar surroundings , it is nothing less than I would wish for any person or animal . My condolences go out to all who are losing and have lost a part of their life .
  • Kathy Added Such a heart wrenching yet beautiful story of love and feeling. I have been in that position too many times . Our furry friends are part of our families that can never be replaced. We love them with all our hearts forever.
  • Patricia Yager Delagrange Added This is absolutely beautiful. In 2021 I not only lost my 14 year old chocolate lab Jack who I saved from euthanasia when he was a baby and he grew up healthy and happy, i also lost my 21 year old horse Maximus after having him for 17 years. I am devastated. This woman's video was very helpful. Thank you for sharing it.
  • Bev Added Always a horrible loss when we have to say good by to our beloved friends & part of the family. The loss never any easier. They all will be waiting for us at Rainbow Bridge.
  • jan Added Beautiful touching tribute- have been there all too often! They all await us at the Rainboe Bridge!
  • Papacope Added I see why Mel made the comments he made. We have been through this so many times.
  • Vjones Added That was beautiful
  • [email protected] Added What a sad but beautiful story. Been there way too many times.
  • Lillian Added This was too sad to finish watching. Yes, we cherish the pictures and videos we take of our 4 paws darlings after they have left us, but seeing them also tugs at our hearts, wishing we could hold them again.
  • Sherry Added "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."
