Cool weather, a full belly, and family close by. For an elephant, these simple things bring a lot of contentment. Today, Kham La spent part of her day resting peacefully in nature. She lay down and slept without a worry in the world thanks to being encircled protectively by her herd. When an elephant feels safe enough to lie down and sleep comfortably, it’s a sure sign that she trusts her surroundings. And from the look of it, Kham La seems to feel exactly that.

I can't even imagine how safe and secure they all must feel at ENP. So much so, a nap seemed like a really good idea and so it was done. The thrill of knowing such a place exists for the elephants really does bring joy to settle in my heart for them. What a special place ENP is.
