Ultra rare and desirable 4-speed Super Duty! 1 of 212 produced! #'s matching and Pontiac Historic documented! This one is also extra special because it was actually raced in the 1975 Cannonball Run! It was very well documented appearing on the cover of Car and Driver magazine and Pontiac magazine plus it was featured in many other publications! Many cool vintage pictures to document the build and extensive history! Same owner for the past 35 years! Has won numerous awards! Frame off restored by Brent Jarvis of Performance Restorations 32 years ago and it looks like it was finished last month!

The legendary Super Duty: Early 1970s was a time where cars were heavily regulated, emissions and gas mileage were far more important than horsepower. A few engineers at Pontiac still had the need for speed. The Super Duty was built under the radar from the top brass. It may look like the standard 455, but that's all they have in common. These were special cast blocks that were hand assembled with upgraded performance parts. This is considered the last muscle car of that era.

The 1975 Cannonball Memorial Trophy Dash was a notable event in the world of American motorsports. It was an event organized to honor the memory of Cannonball Baker, a legendary figure in long distance racing. The 1975 event was especially significant due to its competitive field, challenging conditions and demanding course which tested both the skill of the driver and the durability of their machines. This car completed the race in 12th place with an elapsed time of 40 hrs 43 mins and an average speed of 71.3 mph.

EXTERIOR: Stunning! The paint was expertly applied with extreme attention to detail. It was then polished to a show quality finish and looks like a piece of red glass. Looking down the side of the body it is 100% laser beam straight. All the panels are properly aligned with gaps that are spot on. The long and heavy doors close with minimal effort. The functioning shaker hood and fender scoops give it an aggressive look. All the glass is crystal clear, even the rubber seals and fuzzy strips were replaced. It's sitting on a set of stock Pontiac Rally II rims wrapped in reproduction Goodyear Steelgard tires.

INTERIOR: Gorgeous and virtually like new! From carpet to headliner it is fresh looking. The optional console is home to the star of the show: a Hurst 4-speed!. I love looking in front of me at the formula wheel and the machine turned trim with a full set of rally gauges. It has reproduction GM mats and the lamp group, all the lights are working.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: #'s matching 455 cubic inch engine! The super duty engine was hand built from the factory with a heavy-duty block, forged aluminum flattop pistons, and a Rochester 800 cfm 4 barrel carburetor. Rated at 310 horsepower and a whopping 395 foot pounds of torque. It was professionally rebuilt by Motion Dynamics and bored .030 over with a 10.1:1 compression ratio. Equipped with power steering and power brakes. The battery is properly secured and the squirters are hooked up. It looks totally clean and stock in appearance.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the trunk lid and jamb are painted slick just like the body. It has a reproduction sticker and the weatherstrip was replaced. The trunk pan metal is all solid with a factory style spatter finish paint. It is complete with a space saver spare tire, air bottle and jack assembly with lug wrench. It is currently storing all the original magazines and publications the car was featured in and has a very nice display board too.

UNDERSIDE: Professional frame off restoration to new condition in 1992 then maintained as needed. Everything still looks fresh and clean. It has the sport suspension with front and rear swaybars. It has front disc brakes, the lines look new, and the e-brake is hooked up. The fuel tank still looks new. The exhaust has Dynomax mufflers and correct chrome tailpipes. Looking up the #'s matching engine it appears stock and spotless. It has a correct T-10 4-speed manual transmission. Correct rear end with 3.08 gear ratio. The frame and floors are solid and rust free. They have both been prepped and neatly painted semi-gloss black.

SERVICE: Our lead mechanic thoroughly inspected this car and we replaced the reverse light bulbs, repaired the headlight connection, wired the radio and speaker, replaced the fuel sending unit, replaced the right header gasket, and tightened the exhaust.
