Concourse restored and documented 428 Cobra Jet with a 4-speed! Restored to factory condition by a Mustang expert in 2018. Documented with a deluxe Marti Report, original door tag and buck tag. Truly an iconic piece of American muscle car history!

EXTERIOR: Dang this is a good looking car! The sleek fastback design and it's decked out with a chin spoiler, racing mirrors, reflective side stripe, and a blacked-out hood with Cobra Jet scoop. The body is outstanding. It has original metal with factory spotwelds. It's laser beam straight with no rust or damage. Repainted its original Candy Apple Red and it looks like a piece of glass. All the chrome and trim pieces are in excellent shape. All the glass appears to be original, but the weather strips and seals have been replaced. It's sitting on factory chrome 14" rims wrapped in Goodyear Polyglass F70-14 reproduction tires with raised white letters.

INTERIOR: Deluxe interior with high back clarion knit bucket seats, molded door panels and a center console. It looks practically new. Down on the floor is new carpet with the red sewn in mats. Above is a new headliner and visors. In front of me is a new dash pad, the knobs, bezels, heater controls and rim blow horn are in excellent shape. The interior lights are also working. The optinal Am-Fm stereo includes speakers in the door panels. It also optional tachometer, both options are on the Marti Report. The best part is the 4-speed!

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This has the correct Q code 428 Cobra Jet engine. They were factory rated at 335 horsepower but were actually rated by the NHRA at 390! Correct rebuilt carburetor and distributor. Concourse restored engine compartment and it's freshly detailed. The chrome air cleaner and valve covers dress up the bay nicely. Reproduction hoses and clamps. Properly secured Motorcraft battery. The factory markings, stickers, and paper tags were reapplied. All the metal surfaces are painted smooth. The bottom side of the hood is complete with insulation. It features power brakes with a brand-new booster plus. It is even complete with a hard to find smog system. a rebuilt smog system as well.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Pristine metal all painted Candy Apple Red. It has reproduction weatherstripping, trunk mat and decal. It also has a polyglass tire for a spare on a restored rim. Complete jack assembly is also properly installed.

UNDERSIDE: It's been completely restored and detailed to concourse specs with the original assembly line markings. The Mach 1 comes with a competition suspension which has been completely rebuilt. The steering has been rebuilt too. Correct reproduction dual exhaust with h-pipe, cross flow muffler and chrome tips. The fuel system has been replaced. The brake system has been completely redone, disc up front. Looking up at the motor It's spotless Ford blue with a Motorcraft oil filter and the correct starter. Also has the correct close ratio 4 speed manual transmission that looks fresh. Rebuilt drive shaft goes back to the correct 9" rear end with nodular iron housing. The floors are all crisp and clean metal sprayed in the factory correct primer.

SERVICE: Our lead mechanic thoroughly inspected this car, and we adjusted the idle, replaced the speedometer gear, tightened the hood pins, and replaced the brake booster.

This is the one to have: a concourse restored factory red, factory 4-speed 428 Mach 1! Very few have the complete correct drive train like this one. It's a documented investment grade car, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't be out enjoying it!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
