This genuine Bel Air is wearing a perfect color combination, it screams 1950s! It has been body off frame restored retaining its vintage appeal although it is upgraded with all the goodies. From a crate Ram Jet motor and overdrive trans to a/c, 4 wheel disc brakes and a custom suspension. Only 3,124 miles since finished.
EXTERIOR: The body was kept all stock and it's in excellent condition. It is straight from front to back and there's no rust or damage. Everything fits beautifully, the doors click shut. Repainted in its original colors: shadow gray and coral paint. It is polished to a smooth glossy finish. It has an abundance of chrome and trim which was all replaced at the time of restoration. Optional bumper guards, rocker moldings, fingernail guards, fuel door trim and dual mirrors. Upgraded with LED taillights and a third brake light. New windshield and weatherstrips. It has a great lowered stance and is sitting on a set of chrome Foose wheels. 17s in front, 18s in back and they're wrapped in Nitto performance tires.
INTERIOR: Inside the car is restored back to stock with just a few upgrades. Down on the floor is the correct tight weave carpet along with a set of Bel Air floor mats. The seats have been recushioned and reupholstered. New reproduction door panels are dressed up with custom handles. Above is the new headliner and visors along with the Bel Air chrome ribs. Seat belts have been added for the whole family. The metal trim is painted to match the outside. The dash has all new trim and is upgraded with some modern gauges that includes a tachometer. A leather grip steering wheel is on a chrome tilt column and the shift indicator is updated with overdrive markings. There is a retro stereo in the factory location.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Here we have a GM Performance crate Ram Jet 350 making 351 hp. The old school looking fuel injection has modern technology. It is also dressed up with some beautiful chrome Chevrolet valve covers and it has a set of Doug's coated headers. In front of the motor is a serpentine belt with all billet pulleys, brackets, polished A/C compressor and a polished alternator. It has a modern power steering and a CPP steering box. A Wilwood billet master cylinder is on a chrome power brake booster. It runs cool with an upgraded Walker aluminum radiator. It also has an upgraded electric wiper system. The engine bay is neatly painted, wires are run neatly, horns are hooked up.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted like the car. Inside is solid and has a reproduction mat. Complete with jack and spare.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for restoration. The suspension was upgraded with tubular control arms and adjustable coilover gas shocks in front. In back it has new springs, lowering blocks and Viking dual adjustable gas shocks. Rebuilt steering, new fuel system and a great sounding custom exhaust. Upgraded Wilwood brake system with drilled and slotted disc at all four wheels. Looking up at the motor it is clean Chevy Orange and has a high torque starter. The trans is upgraded with a 700R-4 overdrive automatic. The floors and frame are clean and painted black.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and adjusted the shifter, replaced reverse light bulbs, tightened wiper switch and installed a battery hold down.
I walked in the door of a local private collection and seen this car sitting there, I knew instantly it was coming home with me! I love the colors and it is optioned out real nice. I also love the combination of vintage appeal with modern upgrades. But it before I keep it!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom.
