This body off frame restored 55 was born a genuine V8 Bel Air hardtop. It retains its vintage appeal with someone very tasteful enhancements. Upgraded with some performance and comfort features.

EXTERIOR: It's a sharp looking classic 55 Chevy with an updated stance and a slick set of rims! The body is in excellent condition. It is straight with no rust. It fits real nicely, and the doors shut really nice. It is repainted a bright red with the off-white two tone and the paint is polished like glass there are no obvious flaws All of the chrome and trim has been replaced or restored. The little stainless flippers over the windows work when you open the doors. The bumpers are smooth with no exposed bolts or seams. It has fuel door trim, original style antenna and dual mirrors. All replaced smoked glass. Great looking set of staggered size Billet Specialties:17s in front, 18s in back.

INTERIOR: It was restored to the original flavor with some custom enhancements. Reproduction seat upholstery and door panels. Original style window cranks and handles. Bel Air headliner with the chrome ribs. Premium tight weave carpet on the floor along with reproduction mats. The metal trim is painted smooth and glossy. You'll be looking at custom set of matching gauges including a hot rod style tachometer. The polished tilt column has a nice custom wheel. You'll select the gears through a floor mounted ratchet shifter. Seat belts have been added in front.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Show quality! The firewall is smoothed out and the bay is gloss black. It has been decluttered, the wiring is hidden, and a modern wiper system was relocated under the dash. It has a strong running 400 small block. It's been upgraded with AFR aluminum heads, an Endurashine aluminum intake with an Edelbrock carb, MSD ignition system and a set of coated headers. It features a modern heat and air system with a polished compressor. It also has a polished alternator, CPP power steering and a Wilwood master cylinder. It runs cool with an aluminum radiator, water pump and overflow. It is dressed in a sharp set of valve covers and I love the billet hinges!

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's been boxed and carpeted. A hidden compartment holds the battery. Under the trunk lid was painted really nice and it has a set of billet hinges.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off of the frame for restoration. The chassis is painted black, the underbody is all rust-free metal prepped and painted gloss red. It has all new body bushings. The front end steering and suspension was rebuilt and upgraded with tubular upper control arms and a Hotchkiss swaybar. The rear springs, hardware and shocks were also replaced. The brake lines were replaced, upgraded to disc at all four wheels. It has a great sounding dual exhaust with stainless Flowmaster mufflers. The fuel tank is painted gloss red and has a chrome electric fuel pump. Looking up at the motor it is very clean. It has a heavy duty Turbo 400 automatic trans. The drive shaft was rebuilt and connects to a Currie 9 inch rear.

SERVICE: After our inspection we replaced the valve cover gaskets, repaired the shift indicator, replaced the fuel sending unit, rewired the gauges, installed inside door handle and replaced the brake switch.

This is a high quality, very desirable 55 Bel Air. It has the classic look with the modern features that you want!

I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom.
