This one, I was pretty much with it. I did enjoy the historical info. Agree, it's about respect, etc. And there are definitely different types of knocks depending on the urgency. Today, we continue this tradition primarily by teaching the shorties -- both "to" (knock, especially if a door is closed) and "why" we knock, keeps this tradition in motion.
