Description
Join us on a delightful journey as we groom a litter of Bernese Mountain Dog puppies, introducing them to their first grooming experience. This video captures the playful antics and endearing personalities of these fluffy pups as they learn the ropes of being groomed. From baths and blow dries to nail clipping, watch as these adorable puppies transform into clean and cuddly companions.
Preparing for the Grooming Session
Before starting the grooming process, the puppies enjoy some much-needed playtime to tire them out. This helps ensure a smoother grooming experience, as a tired puppy is a good puppy. Quote from Groomer: “So today we are grooming a litter of adorable Bernie Mountain Dog puppies. They are here today to get used to being groomed because they will be getting groomed their entire life.” The grooming session begins with selecting the first puppy, identified by their light pink collar, to start the bath. The groomer carefully washes the puppy, ensuring they are thoroughly cleaned while being gentle and comforting. Quote from Groomer: “Now, I don't always wash the faces, but these guys really stink, really, really stink.”
Bath Time Adventures
Bernese Mountain Dog puppies have dense coats, which can make the bathing process challenging. The groomer uses a special shampoo safe for puppies to ensure they smell fresh and feel comfortable. Quote from Groomer: “Bernese Mountain Dogs, even as puppies, have an extremely dense coat that is difficult to get wet and shampoo.” Despite the challenges, the groomer ensures the puppies are thoroughly washed and rinsed, preparing them for the next stage of grooming. Quote from Groomer: “You're going to smell so much better after this, and you're going to be so fluffy.”
The Blow-Drying Challenge
The blow-drying process is lengthy, as the groomer uses a gentle dryer to avoid scaring the puppies. The puppies are gradually introduced to the noise and sensation of the dryer, helping them become accustomed to the grooming routine. Quote from Groomer: “I do not use my big high-velocity dryer on them because they're just puppies, and I don't want to scare the poop out of them.” The groomer takes extra care to ensure each puppy is dry and comfortable, offering plenty of reassurance throughout the process. Quote from Groomer: “Good girl, you have to keep this on your head. It's for your own good.”
Nail Clipping and Finishing Touches
Once the puppies are dry, the groomer trims their sharp nails to prevent accidents and discomfort. The puppies are introduced to the sound and sensation of the nail clippers, with the groomer taking care to avoid cutting too short. Quote from Groomer: “Puppy nails can be a little bit of a challenge sometimes because their quicks can actually be longer than they perceive.” The grooming session concludes with a quick brush to keep the puppies’ coats fluffy and tangle-free, ensuring they are ready to head home looking their best. Quote from Groomer: “Just doing a quick brush, obviously these dogs don't have any matting or anything like that.”
Playtime and Treats
After their grooming session, the puppies enjoy a well-deserved playtime, running around and exploring their surroundings. They receive a few treats as a reward for their patience and good behavior. Quote from Groomer: “Now let's see if we can wake these guys up and a little bit of a playtime before they go home and give them some treats.” The puppies’ playful antics and curious nature make for an entertaining and heartwarming end to the grooming day. Quote from Groomer: “Thank you all so much for watching. I hope you enjoyed these adorable puppies, and I will see you again in a few days.”
