Striking lone wolf howling, carrying beaver tail, and checking out camera #Video

Since October, this lone female wolf, who has some distinctive facial/chest markings, has been hanging out in the Whiskey Point Pack territory. She has never been with another wolf or the Whiskey Point Pack in any video.

But we have captured some neat footage of her including her howling, checking out the camera, and traveling with a beaver tail in her mouth and an engorged stomach (almost certainly after killing a beaver).

Oh and we forgot to mention that this lone female is readily distinguished from the breeding female of the Whiskey Point Pack because the Whiskey Point female is missing the top of her right ear…this lone wolf has both ears intact!

Anyway, hard to know if this female will continue to linger in the area or look for greener pastures elsewhere. Or perhaps she will find a mate this breeding season and push out the Whiskey Point Pack. Seems unlikely but stranger things have happened!
