Video Description:
"My father worked there for a year in the mid-1980s. He left Leningrad specifically to work on this tiny island for a year; he dreamed of it, of the romance of the north. His job involved recording and transmitting meteorological data.
We still have seals and stamps from that island and polar bear fangs at home. My father took his camera with him, and there are many photos from there."

- Pets And Animals Video Of The Day!
Excellent - have been fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time in Alaska, YT and NWT “off the beaten path”.
Young. Hungry, but not starving. Yet. Remember to stay upwind.
Thanks Mel.
I never knew bears lived on land that didn't have ice and snow! Thank you for opening my knowledge at age 84!
Wish it was a real video and not AI generated.
They are simply gorgeous. Gosh, I hope Putin didn't banish them there (LOL). I presume they can find food. There is plenty of water around them. And I do believe they favor fish. Nice drone photography. When I got up this morning, I had no idea I would find myself adventuring to an island in Russia. What a blast! Thanks Mel.
Where's the snow and ice?
Great video of beautiful Polar bears. They look well fed to me.
This one had me in tears because it doesn't seem to have anything to eat. I am also with Andrea to think they have no food or someone who takes care of them.
It looks to me like this is a current video taken with a drone, which is why they seem to be so curious about the camera. The author’s father used the house in the 1980s, and it’s been empty ever since. The debris all around is from bears and other wildlife.
so beautiful
Nice video, but probably generated by AI, maybe from his fathers old photos. Nobody would get that close to these wold and dangerous bears without sentries ready to shoot them.
wonderful!!!
BEAUTIFUL ANIMAL
So massive, so agile, so beautiful and they own their own homes now !!
They are beautiful animals; so graceful! I wonder how he got so close to them? They seemed to ignore him.
The gross amount of debris left behind by humans ruined the video for me.
had forgotten how beautiful they are! Thanks for sharing!
fasinating video!
incredible video.
They look so sad and hungry, like those abandoned pets you see on the ASPCA ads. Beautiful and graceful. I'm afraid they'll stop on a nail and hurt their paw pads.
