I know some folks think they are “just a dumb tree rat”..not true. Recent tests have shown they are much more advanced intelligence wise. Google recent squirrel intelligence studies. More than one University has found similar results. Not my field of study, but I read it in one of my journals. ET. Biochemist/Biologist
I couldn't have left the squirrels go off alone in the woods. If it had to be released, I think releasing it in his back yard shed with the cage open and food and water available would be a better idea. As far as the second squirrel, I hope he just didn't leave it in the basket in the middle of the trail like he said without checking on it every couple of hours. He needs to leave food and water in the basket too.
Don’t leave us hanging here like a bad soap opera, what happens next?
Love
this
That was so cute
Very cute!! It is good to see people who will spend the time to help a little animal.
Did the squirrel return, survive? I would love a part 2 please!!
Looking forward to My Pet Squirrel 2!
I know that some may be critical but I am not one of them. They saved it's life by caring for it and the squirrel knows it. It's nice to release it and good to do it but after 6 months, the attachment is so strong, I just hope it comes back to visit, haha.
Cute story Mel. I'm not if I would want a pet squirrel!
Loved that video. Hope the squirrel survived in the woods.
So what’s the end of the story of “squirrly”. Did he acclimate to freedom? Well done story, Especially with two guys making it fun and interesting
I'd like to see a sequel.
He sets one free and they find another one. I guess it's meant to be.
Oh my... what a fun piece, Mel...
Cute squirrels! That little balloon story was amusing, and the resulting expression on Jon's face was priceless! Not the average "good guy" type of rescue story, but still a nice one.
