all right guess thank you Lord that we can come to you and you know what's on our hearts before we ever say a word every morning at this restaurant in Whitesboro Texas the day begins with a group prayer because here at Lovejoy's on Main Street that's not just the name of the cafe it's well a life goal to spread love and joy every day Jesus today then after owner Hank Lovejoy has sent up a brief word of thanks all right guys this family gets to let's go to work a family establishment this speaks volumes to folks so we've got we've got our two daughters our grandkids coming along and wanting to be here and it is fun from creating cakes to chopping chicken it's a scene of controlled chaos as everyone gets ready for Lovejoy's on main to open for another day because urine Whitesboro lunchtime at Lovejoy's doesn't just draw a crowd it brings in the whole town we have sandwiches and salads great salads great desserts these are cinnamon rolls soups are really yeah they are they're all homemade soups but really talking about the salad bring all of our dressings so we like to make food that looks good and tastes good [Music] now there's no doubt about it these special soups and seasonal salads are a hit at Lovejoy's but for Hank and his wife Rita the true heart of this restaurant is the soda fountain I got a job at the drugstore I hadn't seen Rita said she was in the fourth grade so we had to be out sweeping the front often for the drugstore and this girl would come back about the third morning that she came by I thought was she's coming back here because I'm out here sleeping then would you say you were a little bit smitten and it wasn't too long after that Hank and Rita got married started a family and a lifetime later opened up Lovejoy's and for Hank well the place didn't feel right without an old-fashioned soda fountain why was it important to you to have well it was it was important because of the memories we had made around that old family goodness I hope so I'll tell you we've well this is 61 years during the 15 that we've been married and and we're still having a good time are y'all thinking about making this permanent well I'm still thinking now while the malts and shakes might not be a quarter anymore the memories surrounding disowned soda fountain have remained and years later people are still gathering here on Main Street for a good bite a sweet treat and a lot of love and joy what is it that you're offering people who walk in well there's a sign hanging up back there but what I think that says you will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out yeah y'all are having a good time and you're happy yeah we are yeah you did kind of like being 15 and I guess 16 [Music] [Laughter] [Music] you
