The Day of Freedom and a Life of Joy
The day we opened the cage and unchained Pyi Mai and her mother, Kham Mun, from the elephant riding camp was the day their true freedom began. From that moment on, they would never be separated again. Pyi Mai would never be trained or forced to live as a slave for human entertainment.

Today, Pyi Mai lives surrounded by love, roaming freely with her mother and nanny elephants, embraced by her herd and her natural life.

On 22 November 2025, she is five years old. Watching her grow up in freedom, with dignity and happiness, is one of our greatest joys. There is nothing more beautiful than seeing a baby elephant thrive as she was meant to — loved, protected, and completely free.

    It is incredibly heartwarming to see the elephants roam the earth the way they were designed to. It is truly joyful to see them free, happy and healthy. And a birthday buffet too. This sanctuary is amazing.
