Hand-feeding Birds in Slow Mo - Downy Woodpecker #Video

Such interesting reddish-brown coloring between the eyes and beak of this female Downy Woodpecker. My guess it’s from rubbing against tree bark and having her white feathers dyed from tannins in the bark.
