Lundsford, the famous song collector stated he'd first heard the song in 1901 in Haywood County North Carolina. It has been listed and re-penned under many different names including "Mole In The Ground", and "Tempie Let Your Hair Hang Down". This is a great American standard folk song, and many have made up their own lyrics to it. If you have some, we'd love to read them, If we get enough, maybe we'll upload another video.....
