But truth is… this one was inspired by two of our own porch friends: Oleg told the story of a chicken who got into whiskey-soaked bread and staggered like a Saturday night sinner. Derek shared how some wild crows got lit off cherry mash—and I thought, No way birds get drunk… right? Turns out… they do. When fruit ferments on the ground in late summer, it can cause birds to get intoxicated, even disoriented—so much so that some towns have issued real warnings about “drunken birds falling from trees.” That porch talk turned into a full-blown Dobro brawl.
