Love Note from the Goats #8! Happy December 8th Farm friends! Today I went out for a run wearing a hat my friend made me with a goat on it and Tom Brady’s number. It got me thinking about what exactly it means to BE the GOAT. Goats are ruminants, which, among other things means they have no top teeth and four stomachs. Other ruminants include sheep, cows, gazelle’s moose giraffes, and a whole bunch of other deer like animals. All of them have similar digestion, but what makes goats extra special is that they move as a herd and are very dependent on each other. If one goat leaps joyfully, all the rest are sure to follow. If one sneezes as an alarm that something is amiss in the pasture, everyone puts their ears up straight and are on high alert, moving as one away from danger. So perhaps the most important element of being the goat is finding a community who supports both your safety and joy! It got me thinking that it might be fun to share some joyful goals we have and let others respond in ways that help support those dreams. Sometimes just articulating something bold is the first step to moving towards it! The only rule is the goal can’t be something that’s subtracting something from your life that you love. (For example: no Less sugar here!) It should be an empowering goal that adds to the joy you feel. And it would be extra cool if the goal was something that would be best achieved with the support of others, so that a side benefit would be developing a larger community. Ready set go! Share away in the comments and let’s all respond sweetly with any wisdom or encouragement we have to help get folks to where they are dreaming of going! I have a great day friends! ---
